General Posting
Ok for those that know very little about a forum, here is a general "HOW TO" to get you started

A forum consists of several folders which hold topics. Inside the topics are posts. That is pretty self explantory. Now generally before you decide to create a new topic, you should ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS...oh and did I say always?...Use search.

OK, so if you have searched and did not find a topic that you were trying to do, then you should create a new topic for it. Try to find the folder that it fits most in. If it has to deal with a guide on how to play mage, put it in the itt guides. However if it deals with your mad pudge hooking skills in dota, it most certainly does not go in theinformation. Once you find the right forum to place it in, give it a useful name. Something like "OMG HELP ME !!!!!!!!!" will generally be ignored. However ifyou put "Need help with ITT problem about BM" people will be more apt to help you, as well as the topic being able to be sorted because it has an actual description.

Ok, so you've created your topic, congrats. Usually people will not respond instantly to it, give it a few hours or days. If within 24 hours no one has posted in it, it is generally acceptable to post a "bump" so that you raise your topic higher in the list. However you don't need to bump if it has not been at least 24 hours.

Also, generally you should not post twice in a row without someone first replying. If you are bumping, that is a different story, but if your previous post has errors or needs further clarification, it is often much better to just simply edit it. Posting twice is rarely nceccesary.

As far as the rest, read the rules and happy posting!
Using special features (bold, colors, sizing)
Ok for everything you will have to use special features, it uses waht are called tags. These allow you to basically act as parenthesis seperating everything for you. I'll just go over the basics.

Code:
In order to change color, you use the color tags.  So let's say i wanted green, I would use [color=green]Test[/color].  This works for as long as u end the text bracket.

An example, Test (this used the same format as above.
Code:
In order to post images, you need to first upload the image somewhere.  If it is a simple google image, first right click the image and select "open image in new window" kind of thing.  Once you've done this, copy the URL of the image.  For example, ill use this one.

Code:
In order to do this, you would type [img]http://fattyvt.tripod.com/funny_crap/thumbnails/400x300/owned-cat_jpg.jpg[/img]
Note this, is generally how you do signatures as an image.

Ok, we now have the hardest done. The rest such as bold, italics, and underline follow the same thing.
Code:
 Examples: [b]bold[/b] [i]italics[/i] [u]underline[/u]

Examples: bold italics underline

A sidenote, when you need to post something that has lots of spaces, using code is helpful. As an example, when I post
Code:
        lots          of           spaces
actually looks like:
lots of spaces
Image Hosting
If the image you want to put on the forums does not exist on the internet (you created), you cannot find where you originally found it from, or the original site it was found out no longer hosts it, then you are going to have to upload the image yourself. This can be good because if you host the image yourself on your own webspace, you have a permament copy of it.

But what if you don't have your own webspace? Don't panic. The easiest way to upload images to the web is by using either
a) photobucket.com
b) imageshack.us or
c) a million other websites that i can't think of.
Personally, I use photobucket because it allows you create your own customizable profile in it, and save images (and short clips as well) for as long as you want. The URL of the image will never change, so unless you manually delete it, the image should stay there. Also, since it is stored on a secure database, there is a good chance that it won't ever be lost.

The end

If there are any more questions, I will try to address them here, but for the most part this should cover it. The only thing I did not address was registering, but honestly, it is very easy to do :/

then too fucking bad for you. If that is all you have to say then seriously fuck off. DO you think I HAVE to do anything on this forum? Show some sort of gratification or fuck off. Or better yet, just don't post.

It's frustrating when I pour time and energy into something, and the only responses I get are "OMG LOL TOO MUCH TEXTZORZ"
then why should I bother? Much less, why should I keep trying when I get no appreciation, much less the sheer stupidity of the users of this forum

Im no expert, but I believe you just made an excellent point. You certainly fully understand what you're speaking about, and I can truly get behind that.
